A Mask A Day

A Mask A Day

One of my favorite things to do in the morning is to look in the mirror, breathe, and tend to my face. with a good mask. I truly believe taking time in your busy schedule to take care of your skin prepares you for the day ahead. These past few weeks have been filled with work, school, and everything in between, so I love when I can just relax and do something exclusively for me and keep my skin healthy in the process.

Recently, I’ve been experimenting with new facial masks to shake things up a bit in my skincare routine. I find that my face craves natural and subtle ingredients for it to thrive. I need to be able to clearly identify what’s going on my skin and how it will help or hurt my overall skincare. So, when I was sent two masks from Masked Beauty’s Luxury face mask line, I was hyped to see the line was promoting real, natural ingredients and couldn’t wait to try them.

The first mask I tried was the Exfoliating Coffee and Chocolate Facial Mask. First of all, it doesn’t take much to convince me that anything with Coffee AND Chocolate is good for me. I was instantly obsessed with the smell of the mask, as it reminded me of cocoa butter. Once I applied it with the Silicone Facial Mask brush from Masked Beauty, I enjoyed the texture of the mask. Its thick texture felt amazing on my skin and made me want to lick my face because of the sweet smell (I didn’t, too much). The mask is designed to tone and smooth your skin and after leaving it on for 10 minutes, I loved that I didn’t feel the need to moisturize my face afterward and felt ready to take on the rest of the day.

The next mask I used was the Purifying Charcoal & Diamond Facial Mask. Charcoal masks have historically never been a favorite of mine, mainly because of the harsh smells some of the ones I’ve tried have had. Also, many charcoal masks are known to make a mess of your bathroom, and I just don’t have time for that! When I tried this mask, though, it smelled and felt different from previous charcoal masks I’ve used. I loved how it smelled sweet and didn’t turn dry on my skin as I left it on. The mask has a thinner texture that I thought it would, which makes it easier to apply and take off when you’re done. The charcoal mask left my face feeling soft and bright and is something I would suggest using at night to wash away any makeup or residue that comes with a day-to-day school or work schedule.

While both of these masks gave my skin the life it needed, I loved the Coffee and Chocolate Facial Mask the most and will definitely be keeping it in my beauty regimen. Having natural ingredients in my facial masks are already making a HUGE change in my skin and gives me the boost I need before and after a long day. Masked Beauty comes in a total of six varieties an is extremely affordable, which we love over here (coin savers unite!). The masks are currently $7.99 and sold at Meijer and Marc’s, for those who live in Ohio. You can also find Masked Beauty at Albertson’s, Safeway, Hy-Vee, Kinney Drugs and Weis.
